TV - the new interactive media.

It simply has to happen. TV must become interactive to compete with the Internet.

Touch screens - check. Download-ability - check. Viewer audience - check. TV already has all the abilities of the web - it's just moving too slow.

Ultimately, I can see a 100% interactive interface with touch-screen and voice-command. People should be able to buy directly from the screen and items should be shipped right to the home. Further, your preferences such as the shows you favor or products you've purchased in the past should be stored for future marketing initiatives.

This is not a pipe-dream. This is how your computer works right now. This is just lessening the gap between TV and computer. Eventually, they'll be one in the same. But one will go with you everywhere you go and one will hang on your wall in your living room.
