Blogging - so last year?
Blogging's on the decline amongst teens. Why? Ultimately, they're spending more time on social networking sites. Not a surprise - but as a fan of blogging, I just don't think we've gotten all the value we can out of blogging. Let me explain.
Obviously, real-time blog content helps boost SEO. No brainer - but we need bloggers providing content to benefit from this. Additionally, it's still a free method of garnering market research information as well as perhaps even gaining promotional benefit for products and services chatted up.
But where is it going? Americans, and definitely teens, are quick to move on to the BBT - or bigger, better, thing. But did teens move on or are they on vacation? I personally think we've just started to garner the strength of blogging - and perhaps the future in blogging is not the teen audience at all but businesses who continue to embrace the tactic.
