Social Networking and Haiti

Posted by Chris Consorte

With all the heat social networking's under lately - with regards to privacy - it's great to see some positive press on how social networking is being used as a helpful tool in the wake of the Haiti Earthquake.

The bringing of like-minded people together - the original goal of social networking - is at the core of this positive action to help these people in need.

The goal of the world wide web in business - as I see it - is to connect the dots so to speak. To see this efficient operation - within the realm of not only communication but also for donations and emotional healing is refreshing.

Perhaps that should be brought up the next time Social Networking is under fire - which will likely be next week since the media will probably move onto other issues beyond the Haiti Earthquake by then.
