Bebo Unloaded

Apparently AOL has a potential deal for Bebo - the social networking site they paid $850 million for a few years back.

While I'm sure the site will sell at a "fire sale" price, I wonder where the value is at this point. Perhaps I'm being short-sighted, but even if a company paid $100 million for the failed initiative, I'm wondering if it's even a deal at all.

AOL could not make it work - that's not saying much. However, the site has been in a downward-spiral, losing large percentages of viewers monthly, for quite a while. Is it possible it's already dead?

Good management can always help - but it can't always save a business. Unless Bebo is bought for less than $10 million, I'd say the buyer is wasting their money.

With Bebo a No-Go, AOL Will Unload the Social Site
