Stolen Facebook Accounts for Sale.

Talk about a long-shot.

Hackers, using phishing techniques among others, are getting Facebook users to give up their account information via email. The accounts are then being sold in lots of 1,000 - for as little as $25.

It's still not known whether any sale every took place. However, this brings up the desperation both on the side of the hacker as well as the buyer of this type of data.

If you need to market to 1,000 people - who don't have any clue who you are or have any experience with your products or services - then you don't have a clue about marketing. These folks likely just responded to a phony email asking for their Facebook username and password.

Ultimately, this is just a person who's very gullible and inexperienced on the web. Perhaps AOL would be smart in buying these accounts and they can sell them dial-up Internet services as if it were 1999 all over again.
